Yesterday, invited fellow fans Luz and Tony to go see Bebel Gilberto at Royce Hall. Amy L. couldn't come cuz she's in NY, who told me her performance at Hollywood Bowl was really good. Always wanted to see her perform and I had never seen a show at Royce Hall so I got a good deal. The sound system in there was pretty good. Wish I had gotten tickets earlier so I could have gotten better seats but they were decent enough. The opening act was waaaay too long. All 3 of us were getting bored. That set should have been at max 30 minutes not an hour. Was so happy when Bebel and her band went on stage she was just wonderful and oozing Brazilian charm and confidence throughout the night. LOVE IT.

Aganjú. This song is on heavy rotation via Real Audio. Hearing this live was even better, if only Royce Hall wasn't set up the way it was I would have be dancing when Bebel Gilberto was singing this song. It was good thing during the encore performance Bebel encouraged everyone to stand up and dance, which how one should do when listening to her and Brazilian music. There were a couple hipsters/posers that just stood around during her energetic ending performance. Lame ass. SHAKE THOSE HIPS. Even though I love LA, there are just too many posers, where's the passion or love? You have to move when you're listening to music like that, it would be crime if you didn't. Trying to figure out the other song she sang before Aganjú, it had a nice jazzy sound to it. I really need to get her new album. And save money to go to Brasil. Anyone want to teach me Portuguese so I can finally understand all those Brazilian albums I have? If you're cute, single, hetero man BONUS. 8)

Hawai'i, well Oahu was just wonderful. BIG THANK YOU to the Foo's (May, Joe and Mary Anne) I had such a great time. You guys are such wonderful hosts. I can't thank you enough. I really needed this trip. 8)

I can't believe I didn't take Mary Anne's advice and get a Keali'i Reichel album cuz I'm listening to some clips I found online and I'm going to get all the albums. I love his voice, it's just so beautiful. You can just feel the passion when he sings and it's great he's concern about his Hawaiian community and it's well being. I love Hawaiian and local music. YEAH!!!!!!! 8D Hopefully I'll get time to update about my trip on here.
